Mariposa Eating Recovery

    Jessie Mae Estrada is the owner, operator and lead therapist at Mariposa Eating Recovery.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist.  She obtained her Master's degree in Counseling (2005) and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Women & Gender Studies (2003) - both from The University of Texas at San Antonio.  She has been practicing therapy since 2006.  She has a passion for working with the eating disorder population and has pursued it throughout her career.  She started her private practice in 2014 with a focus on the outpatient treatment of eating disorders and expanded to a group practice in 2020. 

    She is a founding board member for the iaedp San Antonio Chapter, serving as the current Co-Marketing Chair (2024-2025) and previously as the Social Media Chair (2020-2023).  The iaedp San Antonio Chapter focuses on spreading awareness, knowledge and education about eating disorders to both professionals and members of our community.  

    Chelsea Ball-Uranga is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  She obtained her Master's degree in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio (2006) and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Texas Lutheran University.  She has a passion for empowering individuals to create change in their own lives through awareness, knowledge, insight and understanding.  She started her counseling career working with at-risk youth and their families before transitioning into her work with eating disorders in 2015.   She has been working as a therapist at Mariposa Eating Recovery since 2020 in addition to running her own private practice.
